Ms. Charline Meeks, 77, of Ripley left this world to be with the Lord on April 1, 2024, at Tippah County Health and Rehab in Ripley, Ms.
Funeral Services honoring Ms. Meeks life will be at 2 PM Wednesday April 3, 2024, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with her daughter, Christi Orman reading the obituary and Bro. Chris Shinall officiating. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery.
Ms. Meeks was born May 9, 1946, in Brownsfield, MS to the late William Frank Brooks and Mildred Lee Roberson Brooks of Ashland, MS. She received her education at Ashland School. Charline, better known as “Sissy,” to her family, was a Christian who enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her pets, especially her dog Gypsy.
She is survived by two sons: Clay Meeks (Sharon) of Blue Mt, David Meeks (Angie) of Hickory Flat, one daughter Christi Orman (Jonathan) of Dumas, one brother Howard Ford Brooks (Jane) of Ashland, four granddaughters Jenna Mason (Brandon), Anna Gilliland (Wade), KyeLee Johnson (Kole Jackson) and Lakyn Orman (Hunter Parker); five grandsons Jacob Meeks (Alexus), Kye P. Meeks (Anna), Clayton Johnson, Taylor Johnson and Billy Johnson Jr (Chelsea) ; great grandsons: JT Newby, Swade Mason, Callum Mason, Beaux Meeks, Westan Preis, Liam Parker, Roman Meeks, Tripp Johnson, and William Johnson; great granddaughters: EzarRae Mason, Alaina Meeks, Josie Meeks, Alora Preis, Remi Cain, Avie Cain, Fiona Cain, Makenzie Michael, Kaylei Johnson and Raelyn Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Ms. Meeks is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Mae Lee Swinford, Earline Brooks: one brother Franklin Brooks, and her loving canine companion “Gypsy”.
The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
