Charles William Cates Jr., age 72 of Cowan, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Winchester on January 11, 1952, to the late Charles W, Cates Sr. and Francis Bass. Charles previously worked as a supervisor at Shaw Industries. He loved his wife, Shelia, fishing, swinging on his front porch, and spending time with his family and best friend, Max Cates, his Boston Terrier. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Francis Cates, and survived by his wife, Shelia Cooper Cates. There are no services scheduled at this time.
