Charles Ray Thomas, 72 of Sumiton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday August 31, 2019.
He was a member of Phillips Chapel Church. He loved old cars and motorcycles. He loved his family and his church family very much.
Funeral services will be Tuesday September 3, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Leron West and Rev. Everett Pruden will officiate. Burial will follow in McCormack Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 1:30-3:00 pm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. Thomas and Clarice Bullock Olsen and his great granddaughter, Emma Grace Ruth.
Survivors include his wife of 52 ½ years, Janice Thomas; children, Leisa Zena and husband Joe and Stephen Thomas and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Corey Ruth (Paula), Heather Ruth, Miranda Aaron (Sean), Zachary Humber (Courtney), Mercedes Roberts (Garrett) and Macaulay Thomas; great grandchildren, Kylie, Braylon, Kinsley, Bryleigh, Layken, Zaiden, Madden and Emery Layne; brother, Gary Wayne Thomas (Patricia); many other relatives and a host of friends.
