Charles Ray Borden Sr. – Obituary

CharlesCharles Ray Borden Sr., 68, of Leighton, Ala., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. He was born Oct. 23, 1944, in Lawrence County, Ala., and was employed by Redstone as a Painter.

He is survived by wife, Vivian Cox McGee Borden, Leighton; son, Charlie Borden and Emily, Town Creek; son, Waylon Borden and Sonya, Hatton; son, William McGee and Lisa, Sheffield; son, Kevin McGee and MaryAnn, Leighton; daughter, Tammy McDonald and Ronnie, Leighton; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Wayne Borden and Irene, Hatton; sister, Evie Dean Jones, Ill.; host of nephews; and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Alan Borden, Devin McGee, Billy McGee, Charles McGee, Tim Posey and Jimmy Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Caldwell and Tommy Ray.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Borden; mother, Lilly Mae Muston Borden; brother, Gwen Borden; brother, R. M. Borden; brother, Aaron Borden; brother, Bobby Borden.

Chuck was retired from the painters local m1293. He had a huge love for his family. He enjoyed his grandchildren, George Jones, singing, dancing and cooking. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Lawrence Funeral Home, Moulton. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Lawrence Funeral Home. Chris Simmon and Nolan Clemons are officiating.

Burial will be in Rutherford Cemetery, Town Creek.
