Charles Houston Grissom passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016. Visitation will be 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm Tuesday, June 25, 2016 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, AL. A memorial service will be at 6:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Bro. Larry Smart will officiate.
Mr. Grissom owned and operated Grissom’s Small Engine Repair for over 40 years. He was an avid horseman and enjoyed participating in trail rides and going to the Sale Barn. He was a huge supporter of St. Judes, participating in St. Judes trail rides for over 19 years. He became a Life Donor for St. Jude in 2003. He had a passion for raising horses, game chickens, and pit bulldogs. His greatest love was his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Mara Grissom: four brothers Wilbur, Albert, James Lester (J.L.) and James Albert; and four sisters Sigalee, Jeanette, Gertrude, and Aline.
Survivors are his wife Lisa Grissom; daughter Jackie (Darren)Gross; son Shannon (Lydia) Grissom of Tuscumbia and daughter Krissy (Chad) Reed of Paducah, Kentucky; grandchildren Ashelie Gross of Boise, ID, Samantha (Ethan) Gross-Bullock of Donalsonville, GA, Taylor Gross, Houston Grissom, and Bella Grissom of Tuscumbia and Millie and Jackson Reed of Paducah, KY; great-granddaughter Jacqueline Belle Bullock of Donalsonville, GA; brother Jerry (Dale) Grissom; special nephew Bronnie (Diane) Grissom of Tuscumbia and a host of nieces and nephews.
