Charles Glendon Waggoner, age 90 of Hillsboro formerly of Gary, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Legacy Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Lynchburg on December 17, 1929 to the late John Elijah and Ethel Lema (Hopkins) Waggoner. Charles served his country in the United States Army. He later retired from Ford Motor Company after being employed for over thirty years. Charles was a Devout Christian and loved cars and leatherwork. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pollye Maxwell Waggoner; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving children, Derrick (Michelle) Waggoner of Gruetli-Laager, Rick (Debra) Waggoner of Woodridge, Illinois, and Joy Scott of Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughter, Rebecca Hayden of Jacksonville, Florida; and brother, Jackie (Mary) Waggoner of Estill Springs. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home and from 1-2 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
