Charles Frederick "Pep" Feller  Charles Frederick “Pep” Feller, age 86 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. He was born in Franklin County on November 19, 1933 to the late Heman and Marie (Higgenbotham) Feller. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Yorktown from 1952 to 1956, serving during the Korean War. Pep had a thirty-eight year career at AEDC and spent many of his years there working in the Mark 1 and ELA facilities providing a multitude of welding and mechanical services. His high level of craftsmanship and welding capabilities were known across the base, and he was undoubtedly one of the best to ever strike an arc at AEDC. He was a specialist and would perform meticulous welding procedures that few could master in support of the large vacuum/space chamber. Pep was also a key member of a multi-craft team that would do whatever it took to get the job done safely and efficiently in support of test operations. He loved the mission of AEDC and he cherished the fact that he had the opportunity to support the defense of this great nation as a Pipefitter/Welder at Arnold Air Force Base. Pep also farmed over three hundred acres and enjoyed hunting in his early years. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Bettie Jean Neal Feller of Winchester; son, Mike (Janet) Feller of Winchester; grandchildren, David (Natalie) Feller of Knoxville, and Michelle Feller of Winchester; sister, Jan Denton of Belvidere; and sister-in-law, Sandra Neal of Winchester. Private family services are planned with burial at Franklin Memorial Gardens. The register book and memorial cards will be available under the carport of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home from 11:30-1:30 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2020. An attendant will be available to assist you.
