Charles Edward Hughey (Chad), Jr. was born on August 18, 1972 – and died on July 19, 2024, in Nashville, TN.

He was loved by many, and he loved his pet Miller. He will be very much missed by all who knew and loved him. He was well known in Atlanta, GA for his success as a DJ, called DJ Chad, in pool and private parties and on college campuses with sororities. After 15 years of DJing, he moved into the mortgage industry; as an underwriter. His last career adventure was becoming Vice President in the consulting business of Morgan Consulting Services, LLC with his partner, Joyce McPeters Morgan, also his Mother. His friends were universal and lasted a lifetime. He accepted Christ as his savior in a small town called Quanah, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Hughey, Sr; grandparents, David and Katherine McPeters, and Flint and Janie Hughey; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving family including his Mother, Joyce McPeters Morgan and many aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of his family lines.

Funeral services are planned for Friday, July 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm with a viewing Thursday July 25 from 5 – 8 pm at New Hope Funeral Home, New Hope, Alabama. Burial will follow on Friday at Hayden Cemetery. Services performed by Reverend Joseph Caswell with commentaries by his beloved cousins.

Pall bearers include Lanny Greene, David Wayne Bruce, Mike Womack, Donny Hughey, Don Hansen, and Wade Martin.
