Charles E. Dykes, 82, of Florence, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014. His visitation will be Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Grace Bible Church, from 11a.m. – 1 p.m., with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. Bro. Keith Pope will be officiating.
Mr. Dykes retired from the United States Air Force in 1969. He moved to Florence, AL and became owner of Hellard Insurance Agency. He was a member of Grace Bible Church, President of Florence Exchange Club, Board of Directors Professional Insurance Agents of Alabama, Board of Directors and treasure of the American Red Cross Lauderdale County, and life member of the American Radio League holding license of K4CUU. He was preceded in death by son, Jimmy Dykes.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Dykes; daughter, Belinda Hunter (Ray); grandchildren, Joshua Hunter, Jeramiah Dykes (Jennifer), Michelle Harbaugh; and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of Grace Bible Sunday School Legacy Class.
In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made to Grace Bible Church.
