Charles David Monroe, 70, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at North Alabama Medical Center. He was born in Tupelo, MS, to Charles and JoAnn Byram Monroe. He proudly served and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Killen and was also a member of Ambassadors of Hope.

Funeral service will be Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11 A.M. at First Baptist Killen, Killen, AL, with Bro. Adam Brewer officiating. Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2026, from 6–9 p.m. at First Baptist Killen, Killen, AL. Burial will be in Dennis Memory Gardens, Dennis, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS, will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Elise Speegle (Randolph) and Nicole Mason (Jonathan); one son, Chris Monroe; four grandchildren, Christian, Haylee, Ashlyn, and Savannah; one sister, Tammy Wood (David); two brothers, Scotty Monroe (Susan) and Jeff Monroe (Ellen); two aunts, Nelda Mann and Becky Monroe; two sisters-in-law, Joan Dill and Mary Ann Fisher; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Blake and Mary Smith; grandparents, Edgar and Elizabeth Monroe, Audie Clouis Byram, and Lillian; one sister-in-law, Nancy Garrison; one brother-in-law, Carlton Garrison; one uncle, George Monroe; and two aunts, Zora Lee Hill and Louise Blunt; and one nephew, Timothy Hill.

Pallbearers will be Christian Speegle, David Smith, Tom Krieger, Scott Penny, Jeremy Dill, and Greg Dill.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Storment, Billy Davis, Mitchell Seay, and Davey Dill.
