Charles B. Franks, 82, died Friday, December 30, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. He was born April 11, 1934, to Dalton and Velera Beene Franks. He worked for Marlin and McKinney Motors and later as a maintenance inspector for the Corps of Engineers. He was a Mason. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed vegetable gardening and flower gardening.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2017, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Grady Davidson and Bro. Castor Buse officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include his son, Mike Franks; his daughter, Sue Thompson; and his sister, Janice Smith, all of Mantachie; his half-brother, Donnie Franks of Missouri; three grandchildren, Lisa Underwood, Miranda Tucker, and Zac Franks; and three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Underwood, Annaliese Underwood, and Brayleigh Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Anna Franks, on March 30, 2016; his parents; and his brother-in-law, Roy Smith.
Pallbearers will be David Nichols, Justin Nichols, Jason Underwood, and Edward Tucker.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 31, at the funeral home.
