Charles A. Rhodes, 81, of Florence, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2014. Charles was the son of the late Marvin and Lillian Rhodes, of Florence. He was reunited with those who preceded him in death including his wife, Mary Jean Rhodes, and great-grandchild, Abby Pierce. Charles was retired from Ford Motor Company and was an avid violin player. He was a member of Glendale Church of Christ. He served our country as a sergeant with the National Guard for 22 years.
Charles is survived by his five children son, Wayne Rhodes (Melody); daughter, Vonnie Rhodes (Calvin); daughter, Cindy Rhodes Haddock (Tim); son, Chris Rhodes (Sharon); and son, David Rhodes. He is also survived by his sisters, Amanda Saint (Ray) and Elaine Urban (Barney); and brother, Eugene Rhodes (Jo); ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Even though we know that Charles is celebrating his new life in Heaven with the many loved ones who have gone before him, he has left behind friends and family who cherished and loved him. He will be missed.
Pallbearers will be Shane McDonald, Phillip Rhodes, Curt Clemons, Jason Barrett, Joe Bond, and Chad Short.
Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Craig, Gerald Earwood, Marion Rhodes, Rickey Clemons, and Jack Morrow.
