Cecily Greager Hovanes, 95, a longtime resident of Huntsville, passed away on June 29, 2019. She was a wonderful wife to her husband, John Hovanes, for over 50 years. Cecily was from Wanganui, New Zealand, and met her husband at a USO dance during WWII. She moved to the USA after the war, where she lovingly raised six boys. She had a passion for music, performance, and nature.
Cecily is survived by her sons, Michael, Stephen, Bob, Peter, Ken; and nine grandchildren. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 at Temple B’nai Shalom.
