Cecil Gilbert “Pete” Inman – Obituary

Cecil-Pete-Inman-1424002028Cecil Gilbert “Pete” Inman, age 95, of Sheffield, passed away on Feb. 14, 2015. His visitation will be 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel, with David Conley officiating. Interment will be in Barton Cemetery.
Cecil was a native of Barton, Alabama, and was a member of the church of Christ. He was a retired signalman for Norfolk Southern Railway, a charter member of the Barton Cemetery Board, and a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Bess Inman; son, Joey Inman; parents, Marcie and Laura Inman; sisters, Mary Miller, Nell Davis and Martha Wiley.
He is survived by his brother, Joe Inman and wife, Sue, of Tuscumbia; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, who all lovingly referred to him as “Uncle Pete,” as well as cousins and friends. He was like a father and grandfather to some, an uncle and cousin to many and a giving friend to all.
Ronny, Terry, Mike and Marcie Wiley, Richard Campbell, Steve Godfrey, and Steve and Kent Lawrence will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Josh Vacik, the fourth-floor staff of Keller Hospital, Hospice of North Alabama, and all of his sitters, especially Judy, Glenda, Stacy, Evelyn, Jeri and Pam.
