Cecelia Little Duncan, 47, of Huntsville, passed away in the early morning of April 18, 2018. Celia was born in Huntsville and a graduate of Huntsville High School. She attended Auburn University and was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Art Education. Celia was an extraordinarily dedicated and beloved visual arts teacher at Randolph School in Huntsville from 2007 until late March of this year. Celia made a deep and lasting impact on the Randolph School community. Celia also taught popular art classes at Randolph during the summer, an on-campus version of her “Cece’s Studio” experience. She initially started this for children in her home. She encouraged all, including her precious daughters and nephew, whether participating or helping younger ones, to try out new ideas and projects and to find and develop their creative gifts. Prior to her service at Randolph, Celia taught for eleven years at Mountain Gap Middle School as well as one year each at J.O. Johnson High School and Huntsville High School.

She was a remarkable artist and teacher, she saw beauty in all things and in all people. She had the most brilliant smile and infectious laugh. She was many things to many people, a wonderful wife, a devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She was a loyal and trusted friend. Although her accolades in life would make up quite a lengthy list, her two beautiful daughters are her greatest legacy, her pride and her joy.

Survivors include her husband, Chuck; daughters, Ella Jane and Phoebe; mother, Rosemary Williams Little; sisters, Cristi Little (Steve Pope) and Halley Little Hall; nephew, Harry Hall; and special friend, Donald Porch.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Monday, April 23rd, at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 208 Eustis Ave SE, Huntsville, AL., with the memorial service immediately following at the church.

The family deeply appreciates and acknowledges the kind and expert care she received during her illness from Dr. Marshall Schreeder, his staff at CCI and Dr. Robert Hash and his staff at Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Randolph School Scholarship Fund, Huntsville, AL or the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.
