Carolyn Thornhill Scott, age 80, of Leighton, died Sunday, December 6, 2015. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, December 8, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home chapel with Glenn Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Shaw Cemetery.
Mrs. Scott was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but lived most of her life in Leighton. She was retired from TVA, and also owned and operated businesses with her husband. Preceding Mrs. Scott in death are her recently deceased husband of sixty-three years, Melvin Scott, son, Michael Scott, and parents, Aubrey and Frances Thornhill.
Survivors include daughters, Pam Burt and Elizabeth Gonzalez, special sons-in-law, Connie Burt and Jose Gonzalez, brother, Ron Thornhill (Rene), and sister, Jan Jamison (Jack).
Pallbearers will be Jose Gonzalez, Rudy Rivera, Tony Whitten, Mike Whitten, Jose Perez, and Dekota Zills. Honorary bearers include Jason Yeager and Merle Simpson.
The family would like to acknowledge with sincere appreciation the care, love, and support of Shirley Moreland and family, as well as Rhonda Whitten and family.
