Angie Smallwood Elom Hovater age 87 of Tuscumbia (Wheeler Mountain) passed away Saturday December 5, 2015 at Helen Keller Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday December 9, 2015 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Oakwood Cemetery. Greg Willis will officiate.
She was a loving, hard working lady who raised a family of two girls and three boys on her own. She walked many miles at Carl’s Restaurant while waiting tables, always with a smile. She loved her cat “Blue” and her bird “Pete.”
She was preceded in death by her parents Claire and Ethal Smallwood, brothers William and Clayton; sister Sara and May and granddaughter Tia Elom.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann (Ed) Alsobrooks , Paulette (Arlin) Greenhill; sons Johnny (Jennifer) Elom, Jerry (Sandra) Elom and Perry (Jane) Elom; one brother Richard Smallwood and one sister Jane Alexander. She has ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family: John Elom jr., Jared Elom, Matt Elom, John Claude Staggs, Lucas Holt, and Derick McCormick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Alsobrooks, Arlin Greenhill and Kevin Ray McDaniel.
