Caroline Miller, aged 90, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2023, in Huntsville, Alabama. She was born on October 22, 1932, in Lawrence, Kansas. She graduated from Lawrence High School and attended the University of Kansas.
Caroline was a devoted wife to her late husband, George Miller. After George began work as an aeronautical engineer in Wichita, Kansas, he and Caroline moved to Huntsville in 1963. Caroline was a phenomenal mother to their three daughters. She devoted many hours taking the girls to sports and lessons, volunteering as a Girl Scout leader, and as a Sunday school teacher.
After their daughters grew up and started their own families, Caroline was a wonderful grandmother to James (JD), Amy, and Emily, and made visits and holidays just as special and memorable as she had for her own daughters growing up. She and George also enjoyed traveling, especially to Scottish highland games where they sported kilts in their family tartans. Caroline also volunteered for NAMI of Huntsville.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her daughter, Sarah Miller. She is survived by daughters, Melinda (Ben) Pierce and Beth (Marvin) Carlisle; grandchildren James (JD) Frazier, Amy Balance, and Emily Blackwell; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Chappell, Sara Frazier, Andrew Balance, and Olivia Blackwell.
Through the years, Caroline was known for her deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed but dearly remembered. A private family memorial will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of North Alabama, 2905 West Corp Blvd., Suite 116, Huntsville AL 35805.
