Carol Annette Simmons, 63, entered Heaven on August 30, 2026. She was born October 11, 1962, to Odell and Sue Franks in Savannah, TN. She was a proud stay-at-home mom and military wife for 20 years before going back to school to become a nurse and working diligently for 10 years.
Carol loved to play the piano, sing, and cook. She also enjoyed being outside and spending time with her family. In her later years, she was an avid Bingo player, enjoyed coloring and painting with her friends, and having Bible studies with her daughter.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Simmons, and parents, Odell and Sue Franks.
She is survived by her four children Julia Benedict (Aaron), Jeremy Simmons, Carrie Bowers (James) and Courtney Gaylor (Justin).
Carol is also survived by many grandbabies that she loved very much, Jayden, Wyatt, Felicity, Declan, Carson, Jase, Madison, Grace, Bailey, Cady, Zachary and Aleah.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00pm, September 2, 2026, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood. With Kerry Franks officiating. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm service time. Burial will follow in the Railroad Cemetery.
