Carla Sue Taylor Dempsey – Obituary

Carla Sue Taylor Dempsey, 66, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Mrs. Dempsey grew up in Phoenix, AZ, where she met her husband, Dennis, and moved to Huntsville. She was a longtime member of All Nations Church (formerly Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church). She taught Writing to Read at Ridgecrest Elementary for many years, and taught English as a second language at First Baptist Church of Huntsville.

Carla enjoyed volunteering as a seamstress for Lee High School and Independent Musical Productions, and was very active in the children’s department at her church. She touched many lives and will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Dempsey was preceded in death by her parents, Rob Smith Taylor and Mary Elizabeth King Taylor, and her brother, Charles Vernon Taylor.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Dennis Dempsey; children, David Gregory, Nathan Patrick, Melissa Dempsey Patch and husband, Greg, and Christi Davis Morgan and husband, Michael; sister, Dorothy Taylor Garrison and husband, David; grandchildren, Joshua Morgan, Kali Morgan and Mikey Patch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at All Nations Church. The funeral service will immediately follow at the church with Dr. Larry Inman officiating. Burial will be in Faith Memorial Park

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lee Lyric Theatre, Gideon’s International, or All Nations Church, 3614 Drake Ave., Huntsville, AL 35805.
