Calvin T. McClure, 89, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017. Mr. McClure attended Madison County High School, married the love of his life, Nancy, and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He later worked at IBM as an engineer until retirement. He was an active member at Twickenham Church of Christ.
He had a passion for woodworking and loved taking care of family and friends. He was a member of Helion Lodge Number 1 of Alabama.
Mr. McClure was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jane Newby McClure, parents, John and Ellie McClure, brother, Fred McClure, sisters, Evelyn “Jewel” Hildebrand and Lillian Compton, and nephew, Billy Ray McClure.
Survivors include his son, Garry McClure (Ann); daughter, Judy McClure Newman; grandchildren, Lee McClure (Jamie), Thomas McClure, Adam Newman, and Lindsay Odom (Russell); nieces, Joan McClure, Shirley Latham and Susan Hildebrand; nephew, Tommy Compton; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Twickenham Church of Christ. The funeral service will immediately follow at the church with Lincoln Smith officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Twickenham Church of Christ or a favorite charity.
