Brittany Nicole Jones Washington, age 40, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a beloved daughter, aunt, sister, and friend whose kindness, strength, and loving heart touched everyone who knew her.
She will always be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the memories she created with those closest to her. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to so many lives.
She is survived by, her son, Braxton Washington, mother, Patricia Thrasher, grandmother, Nellie Thrasher, siblings, Joseph Ellis, Rebecca Skains, Cody Ellis (wife, Sabrina), several aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Jones, pops, Leonard Jones, grandmother, Annabelle Thompson, grandfather, Marvin Thrasher, uncles, Tony Thrasher and Denies Thrasher, aunt, Lovanda Hall.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Access Hospice, and especially to Tonya, Kayla, Hannah, Brittany, and Penny, for the love, care, compassion, and support shown to Brittany and her family during such a difficult time. Your kindness, comfort, and dedication will never be forgotten.
Brittany’s love and memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The visitation for Brittany will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Marion County Funeral Home. The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday May 28, 2026, in the chapel at Marion County Funeral Home with Bro Dustin Cochran officiating; and speakers, Aunisti Duncan, Alee Ellis, and Brandon Hall with burial in Hamilton Memory Gardens.
