Brenda Jo Pearson Copeland, age 70, of Owens Cross Roads, AL passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Copeland was born in Cullman County, AL to Robert Cullen and Myrtle Ellen Pearson. She retired from teaching at North East State. Mrs. Copeland was a member of Big Cove Presbyterian Church and affiliated with the Lupus Foundation and the Lung Transplant Brothers & Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Cullen Pearson and Myrtle Ellen Sims Pearson.
Mrs. Copeland is survived by her husband of 52 years Donald Winfred Copeland; sons Jon Copeland (Paula) and Dan Copeland (Kristie Arnold); daughter Carrie Turner (Steve); brother Bobby Pearson; mother of Dan’s children Stacey Copeland and grandchildren Jon David, Kristen, Kelby, Cade, Cullen and Abbey. The pallbearers will be Jon, Dan, Cade, Cullen, Jon David and Steve.
The visitation for Mrs. Copeland will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 5 to 7 pm at Hampton Cove Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10 am at Big Cove Presbyterian Church. She will lie in state from 9 to 10 am prior to the service. The family will have a private family burial at Hampton Cove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Lupus Foundation or Big Cove Presbyterian Church.
