Brenda Gayle Griffin Powers, 75 of Athens, Alabama, died Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Services will be 1PM Friday at Spry Funeral Home Chapel in Athens, burial in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is Friday 12noon until service at Spry Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powers was born May 17, 1948 in Athens, Alabama to Olando H. Griffin and Alberta Hamley Griffin.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband: Elvie “Archie” Powers Jr.; Sisters: Barbara Griffin Miller, Patsy Griffin Smith; Brothers: Douglas Wayne “Bud” Griffin and Andrew Lafayette Griffin.
Survivors: Son: Hollis Wayne (Monica McAllister) Powers of Athens; Grandson: Brett A. (Misty Kerstetter) Powers of Ladson, SC; Granddaughter: McKenna Grace Powers of Athens, AL; Brother: Phillip Ray (Debbie) Griffin of Athens; Lifelong friend and caretaker: Shirley Blankenship of Athens.
Mrs. Powers retired from Saginaw/General Motors after 25 years of service. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
