ATHENS– The City of Athens and Limestone County continue to see economic growth throughout the county coming out of the pandemic.

Driftwood Dragonfly, a new botanical artisan market and tea bar, has opened in downtown

Athens at 405 W. Washington Street. The market’s hours of operation are Wednesday and

Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday Noon through 4 p.m. When patrons stop in at the market, they will find loose leaf teas and herbs, hand-crafted earthly self-care products, crystals, fresh plants and flowers, naturebased art and gifts, reiki, and many classes and events.

Every item sold at the market is close to nature and earth. The market is the first place in Limestone County that offers Piper and Leaf tea. Athens Native & Market Owner Michelle Crawford hopes people will stop by and grab a cup of tea, shop, and relax.

“I am excited to open my market for the Limestone County community,” said Crawford. “Our one-of-a-kind market provides consumers something they cannot experience anywhere else.”

Crawford and her associates plan to have live music on the patio on Friday, June 18, 2021, at 7 p.m. Music will be played by local musician Tanner Christian. Crawford says patio seating is limited, so patrons are encouraged to feel free to bring extra lawn chairs or a picnic blanket.
