Boris Thornton “BT” Windham, age 58, of New Albany, Mississippi, departed this life on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at his residence.
Services remembering BT’s life will be at 3 PM Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Wells Chapel Church, with all friends and family invited to come and remembering such a wonderful man. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery.
Born on November 5, 1967, in New Albany, Mississippi, BT was the son of the late Dewey Windham and Lula Blanche Thornton Windham. He attended East Union High School and was a faithful Baptist by faith. For more than ten years, he worked as a taxi driver for Jeff Jones, where he enjoyed meeting people, making friends, and lending a helping hand whenever he could.
BT was the kind of man who never met a stranger. Kindhearted to the core, he was always willing to give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it. He had a true heart of gold and found joy in helping others without expecting anything in return. Of all the blessings in his life, none brought him more happiness than his children and especially his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and treasured every opportunity to spend with.
Though his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, his family will forever remember his generous spirit, compassionate heart, and the countless acts of kindness that defined his life.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Chelsea Windham of New Albany; his sons, William “Will” Windham of New Albany and Christopher Windham of New Albany; his sisters, Pam Hamblin of New Albany and Lyn Lynette McDonald of Corinth; his brothers, William “Buddy” Windham of Blue Mountain, David Windham of Myrtle, and Bro. Earshell Windham of New Albany; his beloved grandchildren, McKenzie Richerson, Bryson Richerson, and Paisley Grissom; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, BT was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Hamblin.
His legacy of generosity, kindness, and unconditional love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
