Bonnie Sue Thornton age 75 of Athens, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Thornton was born August 1, 1937 in Iron City, TN to James Mack Hardwick and Virginia Dare Weaver Hardwick.
Services for Mrs. Thornton are Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 11:00 until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Bill Perkins officiating.
Mrs. Thornton was a member of Central Church of Christ. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother as was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Samaniego and husband Rick and Bobbi Bailey and husband Grayson; sisters, Peggy Arnett and husband Bob and Patti Risner and husband Mike; brother, James Hardwick and wife Wanda; mother, Virginia Hardwick; grandchildren, Thomas and Tyler Samaniego and Samantha and Josh Bailey; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Thomas Samaniego, Tyler Samaniego, Josh Bailey, Chuck Farmer, Joel Chisholm and Lenny Sims.
