Bonnie Louise Avery – Obituary

bonnieBonnie Louise Avery, 98, entered heaven on Wednesday April 2, 2014, passing away in Greenville, South Carolina. Born July 8, 1915, in Hodges, Ala., Mrs. Avery was the widow of Grover Avery. A resident of Hodges for 85 years, she retired from Munsingwear and was a member of the Hodges Missionary Baptist Church. In 2000, she moved to South Carolina to be near her son and became a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Greenville.

She is survived by her son, Howard Kenneth (Gerry) Avery; granddaughter Sharon (Mike) Mull; great-grandson Seth (Carola) Mull; and great-great grandson Jonah Michael Mull, all of South Carolina; niece Marla (Ed) Minter, Hamilton, nephews Danny (Deborah) Avery, Hodges, and Allen Avery, Florence, and a host of great-nephews and great-nieces.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m., at the Hodges Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeastern Children’s Home, 115 Children’s Way, Duncan, SC 29334. Hamilton Funeral Home assisted the family.
