Mr. Bobby Lipscomb, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at his home in Scotts Hill. He was born August 6, 1947 in Lexington to the late James Aubrey and Flora Pope Lipscomb. He started working at the age of 13 at the Princess Theater, running the popcorn machine, and went on to become a manager at Piggly Wiggly in Lexington. He ended his career in sales. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteers Fan and also enjoyed golfing and tennis. He loved his grandchildren dearly and never missed attending their sporting events. His family often affectionately called him “George” or “Bob-Bob”.
Mr. Bobby is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mrs. Debby Lipscomb; his four daughters, Lisa Lipscomb Thomas (Rob), Lori Herrington (Mike), Andrea Lipscomb Crawford, and Brittany Carver (Adam); his brother, James Irby Lipscomb (Nancy); six grandchildren, Jonathan Thomas, Taylor Thomas (Katy), Morgan Costello (Coty), Faith Herrington, Scarlett Carver, and Jensen Carver; and four great grandchildren, Linden, Nora, Cole, and Colby.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Lipscomb and two sisters, Maxine Kimmey and Pauline Stanfill.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, December 22, 2024 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Judson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 1 – 5 PM and on Sunday, 11 AM – 2 PM.
