Bobby Lee Brown, age 68, of Killen, died Monday, July 7, 2014. Visitation will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Ted Vafeas officiating. Burial will follow in Guy Cemetery. Mr. Brown was a Tuscumbia native and a retired U. S. Army Sargent Major who spent more than 33 years on active duty. He received numerous medals and citations over his lifetime. His time in the military included deployments in Vietnam, South America, South Korea and a temporary duty assignment (TDY) in Egypt. He was currently serving as CEO of Government Acquisitions Inc. located in Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Brown has a Doctor of Philosophy in management from LaSalle University, a Master’s degree in Management from LaSalle University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New York, New York. He is survived by his wife Maria Brown of Killen; mother, Letha Mae Brown of Tuscumbia; sons, Roger Brown and wife Jennifer of Nashville, Jason Brown and wife Crystal of Franklin, TN; daughter, Linda Gist and husband Bret of Russellville; sister, Nina King of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan,and Mealeia Gist, Madisyn, Rachael, and Ben Brown, Karleigh Cross, and Ella and Beckett Brown. Bobby cherished his family and lived life to the fullest. He believed in Jesus Christ and served as a deacon at Hampton Heights during the 80’s. No part of the world was off limits and no person was not a friend.
