Bobby Lawayne Parker, 89 of Arab passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at his residence. Bobby was born November 1, 1933, the eldest son of Vernon Parker and Lena Williams Parker. He was a graduate of Fairview High School class of 1951. He married Helen Bailey Parker June 13, 1953, and was married 57 years at the time of her passing October 14, 2010. He enlisted in the US Army June 12, 1956 and was honorably discharged June 11, 1958. He was a retired electrician, but had a love for the farm, raising cattle and always growing a vegetable garden. He was a life long member of the Union Hill F.C.M. Church.
He is survived by his daughter: Pam Hornsby, her husband Ronnie; grandchildren: Shane Hornsby, his wife Angel, LeAnn Canales, her husband Randy and his fur baby: Molly “Little Girl”, which brought him much joy and laughter. He was preceded in death by his wife: Helen Parker, parents: Vernon and Lena Parker and brothers: Billy Parker and Jimmy Parker.
Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Union Hill F.C.M. Church with Brother Jeff Rowan and Brother Chris Claborn officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. Friday at the Union Hill F.C.M. Church.
Pallbearers: Mike Quick, Elton Haymon, Lynn Harper, Ricky Berry, Eddie Cleveland and Randy Canales.
