Bobby Joe Moon Bobby Joe Moon was born 13 April 1948 and die on 2 September 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Moon was a Vietnam veteran. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970. He’s a retired coal miner from SEGCO and Shoal Creek Mines and was active UM/WA member. He loved his community by serving as Boy Scout Leader for Troop 120 of Dora. He volunteered in coaching both Baseball and Football youth programs in Dora and Sumiton. Recently served on the committee for the Dora Veterans Memorial. He was a long time member of Dora First Baptist Church where he served his Lord among many family and friends. And he was a member of the Davis Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parent’s Arley and Mildred Moon, sisters Myra Barnett and Cheryl Shumay, his sons Randy Moon and Chad Moon.
He is survived by his wife or 53 years Billie Sue Moon, his two sons Joseph and Chase Moon (Jennifer). Granddaugters Natalie Broadhead and Arlie Mae Moon. Brittney Jones (Quincy), Haley Trusty, and daughter-in-law Treasa Moon and great-granddaughter Alaina Estell. Brother Bill Moon (Pam), nephews Brandon Moon (Sarah) and Justin Moon and his favorite niece Amber Bland (Jayden). And a host for great nephews and nieces.
Pall bearers will be Brandon Moon, Justin Moon, Bill Moon, Chase Moon, Amber Bland, and Jayden Bland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Roberts and Dalton Roberts.
Funeral services will be Friday September 5, 25 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Zac Bozeman will officiate. Burial will follow at Lawler Cemetery. the family will receive friends from 10-11 am.
