Mr. Bobby Earl Gibson, age 68, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly at his residence Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
Bobby was the son of John Gibson, Sr. and Hallie Gibson and was born on February 28, 1946 in Madisonville, Kentucky. He was married to Paula Denese Rivers Gibson.
Bobby was a hard working man, being in the siding installation business for new construction. His family remembers that he always had people laughing, lifting them up without them even realizing it, and making them smile. He was one of those people who “never met a stranger”. Everyone seemed to know him and loved him as well. He didn’t have and enemy in the world. He really loved music, especially that of his favorite artist, George Jones.
Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife: Paula Denese Rivers Gibson of Mt. Pleasant; children: B. J. (Chelsey) Gibson of Mt. Pleasant, Chris Gibson, William “Andy” Gibson of Mt. Pleasant, Barbara Jean and Candy; and grandchildren: Hunter Gibson and Brynlee Gibson. He was preceded in death by his parents: John Gibson, Sr. and Hallie Gibson.
Funeral services for Bobby will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will follow at Kittrell Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. immediately prior to the service also at the funeral home.
B. J. Gibson, Chris Gibson, Andy Gibson and Shane Miller will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Miller and Jimmy Rivers, Jr.
