Blountville Woman Dies In Collision That Injured Another Person

HOLLY POND-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident that has taken the life ofone person and sent a second person to a local hospital with injuries:

“A two-vehicle crash at approximately 6:39 a.m. Saturday, February 26, has claimed the life of a Blountsville woman.

Marie Lee Cumbie, 55, was fatally injured when the 2007 Toyota Yaris that she was driving, crossed the centerline and collided with a 2012 Chevy Silverado, driven by Wesley Adamvines Edmondson, 26, of Albertville. 

Cumbie was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Edmondson was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near the 88 mile-marker, approximately 5 miles west of Holly Pond.  Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
