Blake Jackson Goodwin, 40, died unexpectedly Tuesday in Tupelo. Born April 8, 2016 in Memphis, TN, he grew up in New Albany and played football in the public schools there. He married Summer Cornett on Aug. 8, 2005 and they made their home in Tupelo the last few years. He worked in local foam factories and was in hotel maintenance his last working years. He was a computer whiz, loved electronics, was fond of all kinds of music and an avid Ole Miss football fan. He attended New Hope United Methodist Church in Chickasaw Co
A service celebrating his life will be held at 6 PM Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with his father in law, Rev. Bill Cornett, officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM-service time Friday only at Holland, Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving the family.
Survivors include his wife: Summer Goodwin and their children, Montana, Brooklyn, Dominik, Airen and Sebastien all of Tupelo; his parents, David Goodwin of Ripley and Betty Jones Betts of Hickory Flat. 2 grandchildren, Ella Rose and Hazel Grace. 1 brother, Chad Betts of Falkner. His in laws: Bill and Martha Cornett of Tupelo. He was preceded in death by his mother in law, Alva Cornett and his grandparents.
