Billy Wayne Frederick, 77, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015, at his home. He was born November 18, 1937, to Dailey Thurston and Clytee Steele Frederick. He was a member of Gilmore’s Chapel Independent Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school for many years. He worked for the City of Fulton as a city policeman as well as for the gas department and fire department. He worked for Itawamba County as a deputy sheriff and for the Mantachie Gas Department. After his retirement, he worked in the grounds department at ICC in Tupelo. He loved to play bass and guitar as well as sing gospel music and was affiliated with several gospel music groups. He loved to camp and fish and enjoyed Ole Miss sports.

Services will be at 11 a. m. Monday, February 9, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Douglas Kitchens and Bro. Ray Guin officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carmay Guin Frederick; two sons, Ricky Frederick (Nita) of New Site and Michael Frederick (Regina) of Evergreen; four daughters, Shelia Martin (Donnis) and Hope Cantrell (Red), both of Fairview, Deedra Rodgers (Todd) of Ozark, and Penny Grubbs (Chad) of Fulton; a foster daughter, Melanie Barrett of Fulton; one brother, Bob Frederick (Carolyn) of Fulton; ten grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Doyle and Don Frederick; and two sisters, Avolene Stanford and Maxine Stegall.

Pallbearers will be Bradley Frederick, Zach Frederick, Chance Rodgers, Wesley Rodgers, T. C. Grubbs, and Ryder Grubbs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Korison Brown and Matthew Brown.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. today at the funeral home.
