Billy N. Baine, 87 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, June 18th, 2023, at Limestone Health Facility. Mr. Baine was born on December 19th, 1935, in Scottsboro, Alabama, to Charles Nelson Baine and Buel Woodall Baine.
Mr. Baine is survived by his wife of 64 years Gloria Baine; daughters Debbie Tuck (Chuck), of Elkmont, Sandra Whitfield (Danny), of Athens, and Barbara Parnell (Greg), of Athens; son David Baine (Cindy), of Athens; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister Sara Jean Garner, of Tuscumbia.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Limestone Lodge and Limestone Health Facility for their special care for their father.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Mr. Baine will be Friday, June 23rd, 2023, at 1:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Barrett Long officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00am-12:50pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be C.J. Tuck, Nelson Baine, Kris Parnell, Seth Tuck, Russ Reith, and Josh Tester. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Stanley, Jordon Castleberry, Andrew Owens, Livingston Long, and Coleman Garner.
Mr. Baine was a faithful member of Tanner United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being outside, fishing, hunting, golfing, and sports. He served his country as an airman in the US Navy. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Limestone Veterans Museum.
