Billy-Puckett-1443026202On September 22nd, 2015 at 5:25 p.m., Billy Mack Puckett, age 83, was taken home to be with his Heavenly Father after battling a long-term illness.
Mr. Puckett was a member of Maud Church of Christ where he served as an elder for 35 years. He retired from Ford Motor Company and Cherokee Water and Gas Department. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Albie and Tressie Puckett; brothers, Herman Puckett, Richard Puckett, and AC Puckett.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Libby Choat Puckett of Cherokee; his son, Danny Mack Puckett and wife Kimberly Smith Puckett of Poplar Bluff, MO; sister, Linda Miller and husband Nunon Miller of Cherokee; sister-in-law, Agnes White of Cherokee; grandchildren, Bradley Mack Puckett and wife Betsy Morris Puckett of Muscle Shoals, Ginger Michelle Wright of Savannah, GA, and Tanner Clayton Puckett and fiancé Abigail Simpson of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Rubye Puckett, Lincoln Puckett, and Embree Wright; along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Puckett will be held Friday, September 25th, 2015 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee with the funeral immediately following. Jordan Gray and Tony Datuin will be officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Randy Puckett, Alan Puckett, Tim Miller, JD Choat, Alan McVay, Eric Gifford, Jerry Long, and Douglas Deaton.
Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Patton and Dr. John P. Mims.
Billy Puckett was an outstanding family man who lit up at the sight of his kids, grandkids, or great-grandkids. He was a Christian example to all those who crossed his path. He loved his wife Libby more than words could ever express and her unwavering devotion to him was nothing short of amazing.
