Billy James Young, Sr., 88, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Friday, December 10, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Young was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was of the Christian faith and was retired from LaRoche Industries in Cherokee, AL. Following retirement, he continued to work part time at Bonds Construction. He loved being outdoors and working on his tractor. He also enjoyed yardwork and watching Westerns on TV. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley E. Wiginton Young; two sons, Billy J. Young, Jr. (Darlene) and David W. Young (Diane); two daughters, Patricia Gattis (Danny) and Theresia Brumley (Mike); one brother, James Ray Young; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Eldridge and Sarah Ellen Johnson Young; and one grandson. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. Jimmy Daniel. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Nick Young, Adam Gattis, Quintin Crabb, Dee Vaughn, and Ethan Young.
