Betty Sue Sullivan, age 92, passed away on September 12, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 5, 1934, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, to the late Otis and Elizabeth Dickson.
Sue was a fun, spirited woman with a strong will and an assertive personality. She knew what she wanted, wasn’t afraid to say what she thought, and loved her family deeply. She spent many years working as a waitress, a job she genuinely loved because it gave her the opportunity to be around people and take care of others.
Sue loved to cook, and her cornbread was especially memorable. When Sue cooked, there was no question about whether you were going to eat—you ate what she made! Her kitchen was a place where her family was fed, cared for, and loved.
She also loved to dance and was a devoted Elvis Presley fan. Sue enjoyed having fun, and her lively personality made her someone who was hard to forget. Above everything else, her family meant the world to her, and she treasured the generations that grew around her throughout her long life.
Sue leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her five children, Joe Russell, Jim Russell, Beth Kirby, Jeff Russell, and David Osborn; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
