Betty Sue Martin Hill, age 83 of Decherd, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Erlanger Medical Center. She was born on September 25, 1937 in Roane County, TN to the late Charlie E. Martin and Lydia Mae East Martin. Betty started her first nursing job at Manchester and had worked as an LPN at both Emerald-Hodgson Hospital and the Winchester hospital. She retired from Golden Living in 2010 and was a farmer’s wife to Odis Hill. Betty was a member of Wilders Chapel Congregation Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, spending time with family and watching her favorite television shows, The Young and the Restless, NCIS and The Price is Right. She was a loving, devoted person and the sweetest lady you could ever meet. There will never be another one like her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Leon Hill; brothers, Albert Martin and Dennis “Roundman” Martin; and grandsons, Sean Burgin and Davis Martin Hill. Survivors include her children, Cathy (Craig) Burgin, Jason (Jami) Hill and Jared (Jessica) Hill, all of Decherd; grandchildren, Austin Burgin, Macy Hill, Morgan Hill, Hannah Taylor, Savannah Taylor, Jewelian Hill, Leo Hill, Jannah Hill, Lucas Hill and Jarrett Hill; siblings, Wanda Stephens of Cowan, JoAnn Jackson of Decherd, Jean (Hershal) Smith of Cowan and Tommy (Libby) Martin of Decherd; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be 12-2 pm Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm in Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Freddie Harris officiating.
