Betty Peake Catania, 80, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Catania was born in Birmingham, AL on March 6, 1939 to the late Robert Peake and the late Elizabeth Peake.

Betty started her career as an Interior Designer for Rich’s Dept Store in Dunwoody, GA. She furthered her career in P.C. Beach, FL for 28 years before moving close to family in Huntsville, AL. She enjoyed her dog Marci, gardening, reading, and time with her family and numerous neighborhood friends.

She is survived by her 4 children: Steve Hargett and wife Lisa, Jeff Hargett, Rob Hargett and wife Gloria, and Lynne Rooks and husband Jack; her 7 grandchildren: Erica, Lauren and her husband Jacob, Tyler, Addie, Olivia, Isabella, and Emory; one great grandchild, Owen. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Peake and his wife Cheryl; a sister, Suzanne Reynolds; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Church, 625 Airport Rd. SW, Huntsville, AL 35802. Friends may visit the family prior to the service from 9:30-10:30.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Spirit or Catholic Center of Concern.
