Betty Kay Griffith Gorham, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home in the Pleasant View community of Dutton, surrounded by family. Born and raised in Dutton, Betty was the daughter of Milford and Corry Adams Griffith. She graduated from Pisgah High School in 1957 and spent 25 years working in the Medical Records Department at Jackson County Hospital. Betty was a lifelong member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was a founding member of Sand Mountain Concerned Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carthell “Tip” Gorham, and by her siblings Faye Finlayson, Margaret Lewis, Max Griffith, Billy Boyd Griffith, and John Harold Griffith.
She is survived by her daughter, Sonya (Jerry) Keller of Scottsboro, Al., and her grandchildren Jeremiah Keller, Victoria Keller, and Adrienne (David) Eisenmenger of Louisville, Ky. She is also survived by her sister, Jewel Dean Miles of Pensacola, FL.
The Funeral Service will be Sunday May 11, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church and lie in state from 2:00pm till 3:00pm with Brother David Eisenmerger and Brother David Moses officiating. Family will receive friends at the Scottsboro Funeral Home, May 10, 2025 from 5:00pm till 8:00pm. The interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
