Betty Joyce Johnson Hughes, age 93, of Loretto, Tennessee passed away July 4, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was born July 21, 1931.
Preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Hughes, her parents, Gerald and Ila Johnson, brother, Donald Johnson, sister, June Flatt, brother in law, Alton Flatt, niece, Rhonda Killen. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Favors (Raymond) of Summertown, Tennessee, three sons- Steve Hughes (Penny) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Gale Hughes (Cathy) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Randy Hughes of Knoxville, Tennessee. 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was a homemaker. She was a very loving and giving Mom and Memaw and Cherished by all her family. She always had a cheerful attitude and happy spirit. She loved her family beyond measure. She loved cooking and was always in the kitchen. She also loved reading books, sewing, and crocheting. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she played the piano for many years. Visitation Monday July 7, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday July 8, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral service to follow at Loretto Memorial Chapel. With Steve Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Restview Cemetery in Loretto.
