Betty Faye “Memaw” Raines, age 84, of West Point, TN, passed away Friday, January 10th, 2025 at Southern TN Regional Health Systems in Lawrenceburg. She was born on May 28th, 1940 in Leeds, AL to the late William Clarence Chapman and Beaulah Bradshaw Chapman. Betty was known for her wonderful sense of humor, and was the life of any party or family gathering that she was a part of. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Chicago Rummy, dancing, listening to gospel music, making graham cracker cake, and cutting up with her loving family and friends. She loved her family, and was so proud to be a mother and a grandmother. She was of Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Allen Raines Sr.; sons, Roy Allen Raines Jr., and Dennis Lee Raines; granddaughter, Jamie Nicole Luna Featherly; sisters, Peggy O’quinn and Clara Atkins, and one brother, Buddy Chapman.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Matthews, Linda Baugus, and Tracy Luna (Mike); 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Audrey and Vicky Brazier.
The Graveside Service will be held at Unity Cemetery on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ricky Cotton will be officiating.
