  Betty Barker Profile PhotoBetty Barker, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 23, 2024, in Summertown, Tennessee. Born on August 14, 1946, to the late Bill Potts and Lorene Ferguson in Hardin County, Tennessee, Betty cherished her family above all else.

She found joy in spending quality time with her loved ones, whether it was exploring the beach or mountains together or gathering around the Christmas tree to watch the excitement of present opening. Betty had a passion for a hearty breakfast, believing that every morning should begin with biscuits and bacon.

In her leisure hours, Betty delighted in the challenge of solving jigsaw puzzles and found comfort in the laughter of the “Home Alone” movies. She is survived by her children, Terry Colvett and Lynn Smith (Jeff); grandchildren, Weston, Max, and Trey Colvett, and Heather and Hannah Smith; stepson, Tim Barker; step-granddaughter, Kelsey Currin, along with many other relatives and friends.

Betty is reunited in eternal peace with her husband, David Barker, her parents, Bill Potts and Lorene Ferguson, and her sister: Joyce Carter.

Pallbearers will be Mickey Colvett, Maury Colvett, Tommy Colvett, Weston Colvett, Max Colvett, and Trey Colvett.

​In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Jude’s Foundation.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service for Betty will be on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Betty will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee.

Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
