Betty Addison Delberta, age 101, passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2026, at Ridgeview Nursing Home. Born on December 28, 1924, in Winfield, Alabama, Betty lived a long and faithful life devoted to her family, her Christian faith, and the values she cherished. On February 7, 1943, she married William David Delberta, her beloved husband and lifelong companion. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Donna Delberta Cooley, and a legacy of love that continues through their grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

A longtime member of Sixth Avenue Church of Christ, Betty was a devoted Christian, Betty was known for her kindness, strength, and loving spirit. She touched the lives of many through her unwavering faith and her genuine care for others. Those who knew her will remember her as a wonderful woman whose life was a testament to grace, compassion, and devotion.

A lifelong lover of animals and children, Betty found great joy in caring for beloved pets (Winnie her dog and Mama her cat), and nurturing the young lives around her. Her warm smile, and caring heart made her a favorite among children, who were naturally drawn to her kindness. Whether tending to her animals, offering comfort to a child, or sharing a kind word with someone in need, Betty demonstrated a special compassion that reflected the love she carried throughout her life.

The family rejoices in the promise of eternal life and finds reassurance in the words:

“Well done, good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” – Matthew 25:23

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Bessie Addison; her late husband, William David Delberta; and her brothers, Ed (Ora) Addison, Hewitt (Lou) Addison, and Ken (Ellie)Addison.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Delberta Cooley, and her husband, Hugh L. Cooley Jr. She is also survived by her grandson, Trae Cooley and his wife, Amy Cooley, and their children, Caroline Cooley, Hugh L. Cooley IV, and Charlie Cooley. Granddaughter, Amber Cooley Cotten and her husband, Jeff Cotten, and their children, Katelyn Cotten and Colton Cotten; and grandson David Lane Cooley and his children, Jocie Cooley and Brennan Cooley.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom are grateful for the blessing of having shared in her life and love.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25th, 2026, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper, Alabama. Funeral services will immediately follow and be officiated by Roy Williams and Levi Sides. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Greg Addison, Steve Addison, Danny Hyde, Tim Shadix, Conard Smith, and Steve Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Davidson, Neil Evans, Danny Latham, and David Sortino.

Though she will be deeply missed, Betty’s family finds comfort in the memories she leaves behind and in the faith that sustained her throughout her remarkable life. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue through the generations that follow.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16
