Bertha Mae Lewter, 65 of Athens, Alabama died on Friday, December 12, 2014, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Born Monday, April 25, 1949 in Athens, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late William Wray, and the late Velma Harris Lewter. She was a lifelong resident of the Athens area and loved her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Lewter, Sr.
Surviving are sons, William Lewter, Jr. of Athens, AL, Edward (Megan) Lewter of New Market, AL and Justin Lewter of Athens, AL, daughters, Darla (Kedric) Russell of Athens, AL and Donna (Antonio) Sanchez of Athens, AL, grandchildren: William Cruz Lewter, Brittany McBay, Marco Sanchez, Wesley Russell, Andrew Russell, and Hunter Lewter, and great-grandchildren: Luke McBay and Miles McBay.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
