MONTGOMERYย โ Governor Robert Bentleyย on Mondayย will join with leaders from the Alabama Bass Trail to announce a new annual tournament series for amateur anglers on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 am on the ย Dexter Avenue steps at Alabama State Capitol, 600 Dexter Avenue in Montgomery.

The Alabama Bass Trail was established in 2012 to help promoteย Alabamaย as a year-round fishing destination and to encourage more anglers to enjoy our stateโs natural resources.ย Bass fishing lakes inย Alabamaย often host professional tournaments.ย The amateur tournament series to be detailedย on Mondayย will encourage even more people to fish where the pros fish.

The 11 lakes that form the Alabama Bass Trail are Lake Guntersville, Wheeler Lake, Pickwick Lake, Lewis Smith Lake, Neely Henry Lake, Lay Lake, Logan Martin Lake, Lake Jordan, Alabama River (Millers Ferry), Lake Eufaula and the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta.
