ala bass trailMONTGOMERY – Governor Robert Bentley on Monday will join with leaders from the Alabama Bass Trail to announce a new annual tournament series for amateur anglers on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 am on the  Dexter Avenue steps at Alabama State Capitol, 600 Dexter Avenue in Montgomery.

The Alabama Bass Trail was established in 2012 to help promote Alabama as a year-round fishing destination and to encourage more anglers to enjoy our state’s natural resources.  Bass fishing lakes in Alabama often host professional tournaments.  The amateur tournament series to be detailed on Monday will encourage even more people to fish where the pros fish.

Monday’s news conference will take place on the Dexter Avenue steps outside the State Capitol.

The 11 lakes that form the Alabama Bass Trail are Lake Guntersville, Wheeler Lake, Pickwick Lake, Lewis Smith Lake, Neely Henry Lake, Lay Lake, Logan Martin Lake, Lake Jordan, Alabama River (Millers Ferry), Lake Eufaula and the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta.
